1st March 2018 the statue ‘I Am Queen Mary’ was inaugurated in Copenhagen in front of the West Indian Warehouse.
In February 2021 the Danish government officially permitted the artists La Vaughn Belle and Jeannette Ehlers to place the statue permanently in Copenhagen, and encouraged them in raising the remaining funds for a bronze version of the statue.

In the US Virgin Islands, Fireburn is often told through oral family or community histories, lyrics in songs and re-enactments, and families have ancestors, who were involved.
